Jeremiah 49:25-27

²⁵ How [remarkable that] the renowned city is not deserted, the city of my joy! [exclaims one from Damascus].

²⁶ Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all her soldiers shall be destroyed in that day, says the Lord of hosts.^(A)

²⁷ And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it will consume the palaces of Ben-hadad [title of several kings of Syria].
